In this read-along style comic making class, we’ll be heading off to Sherwood Forest as we take on the tale of Robin Hood!
Comics Draw-Along is ideal for students who enjoy choose your own adventure stories, who want to learn about the basics of making comics, and who love to take stories to silly places. Also recommended for first time comic makers. Over eight, 2 hour lessons, students will learn:
- The basics of designing and drawing characters, environments, creatures and objects.
- How to adapt a story into a comic of their very own
- The basics of comic creation, including how to use panels to pace a story, page layout, speech/thought balloons, depicting effects, and more
At the end of this term, students will receive a printed booklet of their comic and a folder documenting all of their work.
Class sizes are limited to a maximum of ten students to ensure that each one receives the guidance and attention they need to achieve their creative goals.
Supplies, including art materials, folders, and paper, are provided. Students are encouraged to bring a bottle of water and a nut free snack. Considering the nature of art classes, it’s also recommended that students wear comfortable clothing that they don’t mind getting a bit of ink on 🙂
